Afternoon *Tea on the Lawn

On Saturday we put on our first pop-up event and it was mint! We had an afternoon of tea on the lawn at Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle.

We were so lucky with the weather and had sunshine for the whole day. Some people sat at tables, some on picnic benches and some people brought blankets to sit on the lawn – ideal also for a little snooze after all the delicious food.

The food was lush! All homemade by the talented chefs at Blackfriars. The menu was:

A selection of sandwiches :

Rare Northumbrian beef & English mustard, Smoked Scottish salmon, cream cheese & lemon, Free-range egg mayo & cress, Cucumber & cream cheese all on homemade bread. 

Scones:

One plain and one with raisins. They were served with two types of homemade jam – fig (could eat this by itself!) and a gorgeous fruit jam. 

Cakes & Pastries:

Lemon polenta cake and a fig pastry

Unlimited amounts of tea!

This included all our blends as well as some exciting new ones such as passion fruit, soursop, summer berry, lemongrass and ginger, peppermint, spearmint and lots lots more.

The event was brilliant and we were totally fully booked. Apologies if you didn’t get a space. We will be putting another one on in the not so distant future so watch this space!
